Shimla-Not a hill station anymore!!
Looks like global warming is taking a toll big time. Places like manali and shimla that once used to be the summer capital of the country is going hot. And i’m taling of the weather there. The cold air of shimla seems to have vanished into thin air (pun intended). I went for a short stay in Shimla around June this year. Boy was i surprised at the heat building up. And would you look at the helplessness of the hotels there? The rooms didnt have an air-conditioning unit! And i’m talking about 3-4 star hotels here. Not even a ceiling fan! I mean you couldnt blame them, since they were prepared for a cold climate not hot. All they could manage was a table/floor fans for each room. Hope the heat doesnt rise any further or else the situation is going to be even more bizzare…

This is disturbing indeed. I went there in the winters, the heat wasn’t that bad. I have also put up a post up at our corporate blog and hope to revisit. http://blog.ixigo.com/2008/09/ixigoers-next-stop-hopefully-shimla.html
