I am like submerged in gallons of paints, and you could bury me under unpainted virgin canvases. There’s no time to think up of anything interesting to write…not that I usually think and write…I write the best when I am not thinking…which is pretty much almost always. I always believed that if nothing comes to mind don’t write. That suited me fine. I went thro’ phases of not writing, and then a very wise lady told me that she made it a point to write something everyday. As a matter of discipline!

I am certainly seriously lacking in that department, so I thought I might start with one per week bare minimum off on a Monday, and more if so inclined. This Monday, there wasn’t anything interesting to write about. I was sure people do not want to hear about my dogs, they already heard about my boy, and well I’ll have to be in a different state of mind to write about Sakha…

So what would people like to read…about my boyfriends??? Umm maybe but nothing as exciting as this gal who came out with this book about her exploits. That book had absolutely everyone talk non-stop about women and stuff, and have rousing discussions! I have sadly lived an almost tame and though it didn’t seem so to me but a dull life.

When I was in college, we used to have Duck laws…They worked for me, so today I think I’ll share those duck laws with you… (You really thought I’d tell all about my BF’s over the years… LOL think again! I DO NOT KISS AND TELL.)

Duck Law 1

If it walks like and duck, talks like a duck, looks like a duck, cooks like a duck. It’s a duck…

Meaning: – All things are known by their attributes.

Duck Law 2

Even under ideal circumstances, no duck, no matter how noble or well intentioned, can be an eagle.

Meaning: – All things must be what they are.

Duck Law 3

A duck can pretend to be an eagle except in times of adversity.

Meaning: – Pretence and adversity are inversely proportional, adversity reveals the true nature of all things.

Duck Law 4

No duck may be an eagle until it abandons its webbed feet and bill for talons and a beak.

Meaning: – All things remain as they are until the attributes that define them are abandoned. Then, and only then, can they evolve.

Duck Law 5

Ducks are noble creatures. They shall not be penalised in the eyes of other creatures because they are not eagles.

Meaning: – All things are valuable and honourable, if they are what they are honestly, even if they are different from you and me.

Duck Law 6

The greatest duck that ever was cannot fly as high as even a modest eagle.

Meaning: – If one can soar with eagles, do not swim with ducks. Be the best you can be, not better than someone else.

Duck Law 7

A duck’s quack doesn’t echo. No one knows why.

Meaning: – Sometimes there are no answers.

These laws are by no means my own. They originate from some brains infinitely wiser than mine. But I love them, and can see the truth in them.

These are really fine laws, if only we understand and inculcate them.

Now if you are like my friend Priya you’ll probably say, the duck laws are for ducks girl.

But if we contemplate just for a while on them, put it all in context, they are about tolerance, understanding and Honesty. We need these attributes desperately, in today’s world.

(Now I’ll come to what I really wanted to talk about, but find I really have no words to express what I feel, the rage, the confusion, the pain, I’m at a serious loss…)

A world where every time you blink a bomb blasts. Why, who, how? These questions have layered answers. Terrorism has no religion, and terror has no face.

Indian Mujahideen… Who or what are they?

It’s high time we stopped, and tried to understand really the whys and the who’s. I know it cannot be about religion, and never about God. The answer Muslims or Islam does not really satisfy or fit completely.
In the mean time life will continue, people will dust themselves off andwalk on…those who can, some will never be the same again, a senseless death is often like having no answers…isn’t it?

I do not want to talk on terrorism; there isn’t much I can say that hasn’t already been said or that you could not read on the net or in numerous books written about it.

I know I have treated this very grave, subject in a light hearted manner, that’s just me…

Sometimes I laugh, just so I don’t cry…

PS: For all those who are interested google ducks laws… The ducks have a web page of their own. And unfortunately terrorism has loads of them.
