How to win a lost battle.
Jul 30th
For India to stay afloat in the series, either the 2nd test should be rained off or the tourists should, for starters, try – try not to lose.
It can be argued that with such a negative mindset India will surely lose. Not necessary. In the first test, India tried to win from a losing position.
That in itself was self defeating.
Worse, once it was clear that the game was lost, they cut short the pain. They made the cardinal mistake of taking nothing out of a game. India forgot the very basis for test domination, as even adopted by Australia (recently in the West More >
SITTING AT THE FEET OF GREAT BEINGS – an acrostic poem
Jul 29th
Since I have sat at the feet of great beings, it is something I can vouch for. This poem describes the significance of sitting at the feet of great beings.
SITTING AT THE FEET
OF GREAT BEINGS
by Harry Kottler
Sitting at the feet of great beings
Is sitting at the feet of the Lord.
This is true, and
This poem’s for you;
In saints’ presence you’re moved toward
Night’s complete erasure through the
Grace you’re looking for.
Awash with all God’s glory
Their energy just pours.
Their wisdom is transcendent.
Happiness they’ve claimed
Enlightenment’s descended.
Forever mind’s been tamed.
Everything for them is God.
Everything is divine.
They reflect
Om’s grandeur, and their
Faces always shine.

Good bye – Amidst the rain
Jul 29th
A strong smell of wet sand And I notice the drizzle Unmindful I still stand Books and paper in hand.
Then begins the downpour And people run to shelters Their feet evading the puddles Hands above their heads
I gaze at the changing sky Blue,Gray and Dark all it’s shade The puffs of cloud that seem to fly And the little light starts to fade
A bolt’s the golden zari For the white puffs of cotton Lightning, thunder and all other fuss In another five minutes..it’s all done
I walk forward, trying not to glance Avoiding attention, I’m all finesse Or so I think, from your stance And More >

Dismantling Terrorism in India
Jul 29th
Indian government must be applauded and appreciated for handling the terrorism wisely. Ramesh Thakur has rightly pointed out the example of Jaswant Singh, India’s foreign minister who escorted the terrorist to get release of the hostages; it must go down in the annals of history as act of wisdom. While India’s approach towards terrorism has contained terrorism, Bush’s mindless aggression has increased terrorism, and it must be condemned for its stupidity. By the way, it is not an American aggression, as the American public is not with the administration and it is the act of the few, just as terrorism More >
GIRL CHILD
Jul 29th
THE GIRL-CHILD
It has been five months since the ‘good news’ and you have been waiting eagerly. Waiting impatiently for this happy moment in your maried life. Look at the screen for the ultra-sound results. That flickering, black-and-white screen may be a monitor for the world, the answer to the suspense of five months. For the result could be one of two things. It could be that the little pea-sized foetus on the screen is your hope and joy. The one who will carry the lantern of your family name into the future The pride and joy who lights up the More >
Terrorism: Diverting Attention From the Firangi Enemy
Jul 29th
JULY 28, 2008: Diverting Attention From The Firangi Enemy: I have said that almost all terrorist incidents in India since 1983 have been carried out either by groups directly controlled by the CIA or controlled by the CIA through intelligence agencies in the region, including India’s RAW (see my blog ‘India‘s Nuclear Supremacy Over the United States‘ on satchandra.sulekha.com). CIA-RAW carried out the blasts in Bangalore and Ahmedabad to ‘neutralise’ what I wrote below on July 25 ‘08 and divert attention from the firangi — in particular, the most powerful firangi country, the United States — as India’s number one More >
INCREASING TERRORISM

INCREASING TERRORISM
Terrorist attack in Ahmedabad
Which will be the next target?
Govt. is blaming Huzi & simmi & other terrorist organizations.
Why they are killing innocent people by fixing bombs in this way?
Many Islamic organizations are condemning them.
Still they are doing these shameful killings.
Now time has come to combat such organization on roads and on ideological front also.
Time has come to teach them that their acts are fruitless & in last will go in vein.
On the earth we want peace, food & harmony.
Fights for religious supremacy are not a good thing.
Followers of Islam & Christianity fought so many times vigorously.
Their wars have been More >
HONOURING NATIONAL FLAG AND NATIONAL ANTHEM
Jul 29th
AUGUST 15– WE CELEBRATE OUR 61ST INDEPENDENCE DAY AND STILL I FOUND DISRESPECT BEING MADE TO OUR NATIONAL FLAG AND NATIONAL ANTHEM. THERE ARE PROCEDURES TO BE FOLLOWED WHILE SINGING NATIONAL ANTHEM AND HOISTING OUR NATIONAL FLAG.
Every individual is taught as to how to respect the country’s NATIONAL ANTHEM. The basic method of respecting the National Anthem is taught from the school level. But, many people either forget it safely OR start giving a new look to the basic method of respecting the National Anthem.
First, one should stand at attention, keeping both the hands along the body as also the legs More >
The Northeast Hills – A Photo Blog

May 3, 2008 (Day 1)
Spice jet flight from Bangalore to Kolkata. Air Deccan flight from Kolkata to Bagdogra.
After a few minutes of haggling with the taxi drivers at Bagdogra airport, we overheard a lady talking about going to Darjeeling. On further inquiry, it turned out she had a chauffer driven rented car and was on her way to Darjeeling to meet her son in St. Paul’s boarding school. She very gracefully offered us a ride with her. We of course offered to pay our share for the ride.
The ride took us through scenic landscapes, through several military areas, and through More >
